Due to its strategic location, Verona Airport is a common place for overnight stays, especially for passengers with early-morning low-cost flights. Although Terminal 1 remains open 24 hours a day, the resting experience is limited and requires preparation.

Is it possible to spend the night at the airport?

Yes, Terminal 1 (Departures) remains open throughout the night. It is important to keep your passport and flight reservation handy, as security staff usually carry out night checks and may ask for proof of travel from those staying in the terminal.

Sleeping comfort in the public area is limited due to the seating infrastructure:

• Seating: Most metal benches have fixed armrests, which prevents lying down fully. Travellers often choose the floor; if you opt for this, it is advisable to bring a mat or blankets, as the floor can be very cold during winter.
• Recommended areas: Some passengers report that areas near the check-in counters and corners of closed cafés in the public area offer a bit more peace and quiet.
• Lighting and noise: Lights remain on and public address announcements are made periodically. An eye mask and earplugs are essential for better rest.

• Food: There are no food outlets open during the early hours of the morning. However, vending machines selling snacks, coffee and cold drinks are available throughout Terminal 1.
• Connectivity: The free and unlimited Wi-Fi service remains active throughout the night.
• Hygiene: Toilets are available, and baby care facilities are accessible 24 hours a day. There are no showers in the public areas.

Luggage and Security

Important: The airport does not offer luggage lockers or a left luggage service. You must keep your belongings with you at all times until the check-in counters open (generally 2 or 3 hours before your flight). This significantly limits mobility if you are travelling with large suitcases.
