Baghdad International Airport, opened in 1982, is the largest in Iraq. It operates with domestic and international flights to destinations in the Middle East, Asia, Northern Africa and Europe.

The airport has a bank, ATMs, currency exchange services, post office and free Wi-Fi access. Business facilities and conference rooms at the Al-Burhan Centre, located 5 minutes away from the enclosure. The Iraqi Airways Hospitality Lounge is located in the Departures Hall and opens during flight hours; it provides snacks, TV, Wi-Fi, newspapers and magazines, drinks (accessible for Iraqi Airways passengers or by paying at the door).

Bus - A few services to different parts of the city centre are available. Tickets can be acquired at a desk located in the Arrivals Hall.
Taxi - Ranks are located in the southwestern area of the grounds, next to the outer curb of the terminal. There are short- and long-term parking lots opposite the terminal building, most of them uncovered.
Passengers requiring special assistance or wheelchairs are advised to notify their airline or travel agency about their particular needs in advance of their travel. Reserved spaces are available inside the parking lots.
