 Passenger Guide

Düsseldorf Airport, opened on 19 April 1927, is one of the largest in the country and serves the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It operates flights to major European destinations, as well as to the Middle East, North Africa, and the United States.

Number of Terminals – 1 – Open 24 hours a day. The secure area, however, is open from 3:30 am to 10:00 pm.

The terminal consists of three piers (A, B, C), connected via a central building. All of them can be reached on foot once past the security checkpoint.

Annual passenger traffic: 20 million passengers went through it in 2024.

There are information desks on the Departure levels, next to the airline counters, and at Arrivals. The main desk is located in the centre of the Arrivals area, next to exit D. Available from 5:00 am to 0:15 am.

The airport is located in the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region, 7 km (4.3 miles) north of Düsseldorf city centre and 20 km (12 miles) southwest of Essen.

Parking services at Düsseldorf Airport (DUS)

The premises offer several parking options for short and long stays, available 24 hours a day. There are also charging stations for electric vehicles and a petrol station. Valet parking service is available at the Departures level. In front of the Departures level, there is a drop-off area (Kiss & Fly) free of charge for up to 7 minutes. P11, P12 – Short-stay areas directly in front of the terminal piers.
P1 – Car park located beneath the main building.
P2, P3, P7, P8 – Short-stay sectors located around the terminal, about 2 minutes away.
P4, P5 – Long-term parking. The SkyTrain transports passengers to Pier C every 3–7 min.
P13, P23, P24 – Long-term and low-cost options with shuttle bus service.
P25 – Next to the terminal, available on weekends only.

Facilities for passengers with special needs

Ramps, lifts, accessible toilets, complimentary wheelchairs, designated spaces in the car parks, and vehicles equipped with lifts for boarding the aircraft are available. Coordinate the appropriate services with your airline when booking your ticket.
