Gimpo International Airport, opened in 1939 during the Japanese occupation, was South Korea's most important airport until the construction of Incheon Airport. It currently serves as Seoul's secondary airport. It handles a large number of domestic flights and also operates some international routes to China and Japan.

Number of terminals - 2 - Domestic Terminal and Sky City International Terminal, open from 5:00 am to 11:00 pm. They are connected every 12-15 minutes by a free shuttle bus service operating from 8:00 am to 11:00 pm.
