Spending the night at the airport

Los Angeles Airport is huge and busy. Movement throughout the terminals is constant, so if you plan to spend the night indoors, it is advisable to bring a mask and earplugs. Keep in mind that the security checkpoints close at night, so if you arrive later in the day, you will most likely have to stay in the public area. It is important to note that the airport is under constant renovation, so conditions may change.

Where to rest: Many of the seats inside the terminals have armrests, so arrive prepared. The most comfortable options are in the boarding areas, but, as stated above, you may not have access to them. Luckily, some sections of the floor are carpeted, so if you have a sleeping bag you won't be as uncomfortable.

On the other hand, in the baggage claim hall in terminals 3 and 6 you can find some long benches without armrests, albeit wooden, as well as between gates 70-80 in Terminal 7 and behind the cafeteria located next to gate 148 in the International Terminal. The connecting corridor between terminals 6 and 7 is an extremely quiet place to spend the night.

If you are in the boarding area, many of the terminals have VIP lounges (especially the International Terminal), where you have access to greater comfort and privacy. However, these are closed at night. Remember that you can always book a room at one of the nearby hotels, some of which are listed below. If you do so in advance, you will probably be able to coordinate your transfer directly with them.

Baggage: There are no luggage storage facilities inside the airport.

Eating and drinking: Shops are closed at night.

Restrooms: Showers are available inside the VIP lounges, but not in the public restrooms.

Wi-Fi: Free of charge, in unlimited 45-minute sessions.

Other services available around the clock: ATMs, nursing rooms.
