Public transportation services, licensed taxis and rideshare, private transfer companies and car rental services in Chicago O'Hare airport (ORD)
O'Hare Airport is easily accessible through various public transportation options, including the CTA Blue Line train, the METRA commuter train (North Central Service line), and Pace buses, routes 250 and 330.
The best option is to book your transfer online in advance to or from O'Hare Airport. This way, a driver will be waiting for you and you won’t need to negotiate prices with taxis or transfer companies. You can book a vehicle for 3 people from USD240.00 (total price per vehicle), an SUV for 4 (USD247.00), or for 6 passengers (USD294.00) to downtown Chicago or Midway International Airport (MDW).
The reservation must be made at least 12 hours in advance. The pick-up time you must provide is your flight’s scheduled arrival time. At the airport, the driver will be waiting for you with a sign bearing your name as soon as you exit the baggage claim area and enter the public zone. The driver will usually wait for up to one hour. If you are delayed, you must contact the driver using the phone number provided in your booking. In such cases, additional charges may apply.
For shared transfers, schedules may be adjusted by the provider for planning purposes. If so, someone will contact you to confirm the rescheduled time.
Several regional buses serve O'Hare and transport passengers to destinations throughout the region, mainly within Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin.
The bus stops are located at the Multi-Modal Facility. To reach it, you must take the free ATS train from any terminal.
Taxi stands are located on the lower-level curb (outside the baggage claim area) of each terminal. In addition, at the upper level of Terminal 2, between doors 2A and 2E, there are designated pick-up zones for ride-sharing services (Uber and Lyft). Prearranged and on-demand limousine services can be accessed from the center lane of the lower level (lane 2).
