Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, all regular services and hours may be subject to change. Thus, if the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are close to boarding.
Spending the night at the airport
Penang airport is open 24 hours a day and has modern facilities. It is recommended to have earplugs and a sleeping mask if you decide to spend the night inside the enclosure.
Where to rest: The terminal has a good amount of benches with no armrests where you can lay down. In addition, there are a couple of VIP lounges if you have a bigger budget, while you can find different accommodations in the surroundings.
Baggage: There are no luggage storage offices. This means you will have to keep your bags with you until check-in.
Eating and drinking: Commercial stores close at night.
Restrooms: Showers only inside the VIP lounges.
Wi-Fi: The terminal has public access.
The enclosure does not have hotels, but you can find numerous accommodations in the vicinity.
