Spending the night at the airport

San Francisco Airport is one of the busiest in the United States, so it is common to see many passengers waiting for their flights at night. Since the terminal can be noisy and bright, it is advisable to have a sleep mask, headphones or earplugs.

Where to rest: Overall, it is a comfortable airport for resting, with cushioned and fairly spacious seats, especially in the International Terminal. These seats can be adjusted to find a more comfortable position. Some ideal places to rest include the baggage claim area and the B gates in Terminal 2, and the food court in Terminal 3. Additionally, Freshen Up!, located near gates G1-G14 in the International Terminal, is open from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm and offers private rooms and showers. Another option is to use one of the VIP lounges, where you can access greater comfort, privacy and bathrooms with showers, although they close at night. In addition to having a hotel within the grounds, most nearby accommodations offer shuttle services.

Baggage: Luggage storage service is available in the International Terminal between 6:00 am and 11:00 pm, at the airport travel agency.

Eating and drinking: Businesses generally close between 11:00 pm and 6:00 am. At night, the only options are vending machines.

Restrooms: In addition to the VIP lounges, showers are available at Freshen Up!, in the International Terminal.

Wi-Fi: It is free and unlimited.

Other services open 24 hours a day: Baby changing facilities, children's entertainment areas, yoga rooms, relief areas for service animals, ATMs, water fountains.
