Rental Car Center
This building houses the major rental car companies. To get there, passengers must take the AirTrain Blue Line, the airport's free internal train, from any terminal. The ride takes just a few minutes. After returning your vehicle, the same AirTrain will take you back to your terminal.

Off-Airport Agencies
Some rental agencies operate from off-airport locations and are not located in the Rental Car Center. These companies provide their own complimentary shuttle buses to pick up passengers.
Shuttle Pickup Point: The stop for these shuttles is located on the center island of the Departures Level roadway at all terminals. Follow the signs for "Off-Airport Rental Car Shuttles."
Companies like Fox, Payless, and Zipcar operate in this manner. It is essential to check the instructions on your reservation to know where to go.

5 tips for renting a car abroad
- Certify that you have a valid driver's license to drive in the destination country. If you are a foreigner, check if you need to validate your license in your country of origin.
