International travel to Nepal is allowed. You need to meet the requirements to ensure entry is allowed.

Travelers who have visited or transited high-risk countries in the previous 3 weeks will not be able to travel. This also applies to nationals and long-term residents of Nepal.

Other restrictions

Residents leaving Nepal must provide proof of negative RT-PCR, Gene Xpert, True NAAT, or WHO accredited tests performed within 48 hours of departure. Alternatively, travelers can also submit the COVID-19 test requirements specified by the destination country. An 'International Traveler Online Departure Form' must be completed and a hard copy of the barcode received upon departure is required.

Vaccinations and travel rules for vaccinated people

Travelers who present a valid international certificate for full COVID-19 vaccination, using an approved vaccine, are exempt from pre-departure testing and quarantine requirements.

Quarantine is in effect upon arrival

Travelers are subject to quarantine for 10 days in a government approved hotel run by the traveler. A COVID-19 test will be administered on the 11th and those who test negative will be released from quarantine.

It is mandatory to submit medical certificate / proof

Proof of a negative RT-PCR test, taken within the previous 72 hours, must be provided upon departure. Gene Xpert, True NAAT, and OMS accredited tests are also accepted.

Test is done upon arrival

Travelers are subject to antigen testing upon arrival.

Additional documents required

An 'International Traveler Online Arrival Form' must be completed and a printed copy of the barcode received upon departure is required. Upon arrival, proof of valid health insurance with coverage of at least 100,000 NPR, including full treatment for COVID-19, must be presented.
