Spending the night at the airport
Vienna airport operates with numerous flights and connections inside Europe and the rest of the world. Therefore, movement is constant, even during the night, and it is common to see many passengers waiting for their flight departure. It is recommended to have a sleeping mask, earplugs or headphones in hand, as announcements can be loud and lights are usually pretty bright. It is important to note that the layout of the enclosure can be quite confusing.
Where to rest: There are many benches with no armrests throughout the airport. Particularly, concourse F has pretty large and comfortable seats. In addition, there are cubicles in many concourses, providing more privacy and offering padded couches and reclinable chairs. Another option (by paying or with a credit card that provides the service) is to use one of the VIP lounges. The only problem is that they close at night. On the other hand, opposite the terminals there are two hotels, and many accommodations in the vicinity operate shuttle services.
Baggage: Left-luggage offices are only open between 5:30 am and 11:00 pm. This means you will have to keep your baggage with you until checking-in.
Eating and drinking: There are some coffee shops and fast food outlets that remain open throughout the night.
Restrooms: Showers available only in the VIP lounges, but not in the public restrooms.
Wi-Fi: Free and unlimited.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, children's play areas, baby changing facilities, prayer rooms.
The NH Vienna Airport Conference Center and the MOXY Vienna Airport are situated in front of the terminals. In downtown Vienna you can find more options, many of which provide complimentary shuttle services to and from the airport.
